Almond House Nursery has a purpose designed and built baby unit which provides a homely, stimulating environment. Our professionally qualified and experienced staff will provide all-round care for your babies, ensuring they feel happy, safe and secure. And the ratio of staff to babies is one member of staff to three babies for the very youngest age group.

High staffing ratios and individualised care continue for older babies and toddlers as they develop and become more mobile and active.

Two to four year olds

As their skills develop this age group take part in reading, singing and dancing at Almond House. Our main aim is to ensure that children are happy, settled and form good relationships, giving them a solid base for their early years’ development.

Toilet training and table manners are also on the agenda and are developed through praise and encouragement. This age group also has a high ratio of qualified staff to children – one member of staff to four children – enabling children to develop through structured and free play.

Older pre-school children

Social, language and numerical skills are the focus for older pre-school children at Almond House Nursery, where there is a challenging, stimulating and spacious Pre-school unit. And the ratio of staff here is higher than the government recommended ratio of one member of staff to every eight children. Our ratio is one member of staff to six children, ensuring that we can give quality individualised care and education to each child.

As well as numbers and language pre-school children are encouraged to explore their world. We take them on nature walks and visits to local farms and we organise educational trips to places of interest. We also hold special events throughout the year, such as the Christmas party, to introduce your child to special festivals and cultures.
